So was I in early 2006
and since being there I’m really glad I made the decision
to go. Its a cool, vibrant city with many faces, lots to
do you’ll come back with tons of stories to tell.
The only problem was early in my stay I encountered some
huge problems with one of the cities language schools. My
only regret about the whole trip was meeting these guys
and I thought I’d produce this site so hopefully others
don’t make the same mistake.
Before going to Quito my girlfriend and I had arranged
to do some volunteering and spanish lessons with the Atahualpa
Spanish School in the city. All seemed fine with their website
and we were confident things would work out well. It wasn't
long however before things started going wrong. It quickly
became clear what we saw online and what we got where two
very different things.
I don't want to deter anyone from studying in Quito especially
as the vast majority of schools teach excellent Spanish
and you'll have an excellent time. I would however warn
anyone against going to the Atahualpa School becuase of
my experiences and what I heard from other travellers. If
your interested in finding out more about what happened
us then click here or else feel free to check out the other
useful stuff we have compiled about Quito. |
